This rockfish is found in the northwestern Pacific coast waters. They are colored bright red with hints of black running through their midsection. Vermillion rockfish are generally caught over rocky bottoms at depths of 100 to 500-feet. They can be caught on live bait or small jigs. This species can grow up to about 25-inches.
